Stephen King is the master of horror. The guy writes books that are just plain scary if you ask me. He has been prolific, writing close to 50 novels that cover all kinds of scary stuff, made even more scary when you listen to Stephen King’s audiobooks.
So how does he write so much and where does he get his ideas from? Well to answer the first question, get writes so many novels because he spends his time writing. That’s how great writers write lots of books. They don’t screw around, they write and they ship finished product. That’s kind of scary in itself for many writers, but that’s how it works.
As for his inspiration, he says that he gets his ideas here there and everywhere. He goes on to say that his ideas generally are about combining two new and interesting ideas in a new way. And then throwing in, the added question of “what if”.
Adding that “what if” seems to be part of the magic. It allows him to go where his imagination takes him.
Seems like a good idea for all aspiring writers to consider.
